What makes a security cable worth buying

Every DocksLocks security cable is a fully lockable cable built for the outdoors: a flexible, cut-resistant steel core sheathed in weatherproof vinyl and paired with a corrosion-proof lock. That combination of cable and lock loops through wheels, scupper holes, roof racks and hardware to secure your gear to any fixed point. Cheap hardware-store lockable cables fail on the lock first, not the cable, seizing solid after one season near salt water. Ours don't.

Keyed, coiled or straight

Our cable lock with key locks and unlocks fast with no combination to remember, while coiled and straight cables give you the reach you need. Keyed locks are quicker and have no code to forget; resettable combination cable locks mean nothing to carry and easy sharing across a family or a crew. Not sure on length? See our sizing guide.

Can a cable lock be cut?

Any cable can be cut given the right tool and enough time. What matters is whether the tool a thief actually carries can do it in the seconds they have. We wrote the full breakdown in Can Cable Locks Be Cut? What Actually Stops a Thief. If your gear sits unattended overnight or in a high-theft spot, step up to our 8mm cut-proof security chains.

Security cables for retail, rental and marina fleets

Buying more than one or two? Marinas, surf and paddle shops, resorts, rental fleets and municipal docks use the same cables at volume to secure display stock and rental gear. See commercial and retail applications for fleet security cables and volume pricing, or become a dealer to stock DocksLocks.
